By using digital drafting software such as AutoCad and Sketch-Up, we learned how to draft two dimensional (2D) architectural floor plans, RCP's, and elevations.
By learning how to use hatching and different line weights, we became aware of the importance that emphasis and hierarchy have in draft designs.
This semester long project included a demolition plan, construction plan, elevations, and a details section cut. This project taught us how to use AutoCad to draft interior plans and how to properly apply line weights. In addition, it taught us how to digitally create drawings such as elevations for clients and use our creative skills to come up with architectural elements.
This case study allowed us to pick out an interior design style and create a piece of furniture as inspired by that style. I created a lounge chair based off of the Baroque Style. This assignment taught us how to render and create 3D drawings to scale.
